COBIT and IT Governance Case Study: Ontario Pension Board

Toronto, ON – September 18, 2007

For the third time in 2007 The Manta Group, an industry leader in strategic IT governance management consulting, has been featured by ISACA in a case study demonstrating its unique and powerful approach to using CobiT. ISACA, which has 65 000 members that currently work in more than 140 countries, is interested in how The Manta Group and its clients use CobiT for continual improvement of IT value and control.

“As an industry leader in best practice integration, “commented Will O’Brien, partner with the Manta Group, “it is important to leverage industry associations to promote the unique perspectives the Manta Group is developing around best practices and governance in general.”

Ontario Pension Board (OPB), sponsored by the Ontario Government, administers the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP). With more than CAN $15 billion in assets, 150 employees, 34,600 active members, 36,900 pensioners and 4,800 deferred members, the PSPP is one of Canada’s largest pension plans.

COBIT provided OPB with a greater understanding of a comprehensive framework for IT governance. The engagement was designed to build a control environment for OPB’s IT services to ensure it meets business objectives. And the self-evaluation process enabled development of a service catalogue and better alignment with OPB’s outsource service provider.
